When Misha was born, he developed according to his age, actively playing with toys and observing everything around him with interest. But soon his parents began to notice alarming symptoms. Before he was even a year old, he had his first epileptic seizure. After additional tests, doctors diagnosed him with Menkes syndrome.
Currently, there is no treatment, and medications are in the testing phase. His parents didn't give up and, together with specialists, found a therapy that helps control the condition.
Misha requires special care. He has a tracheostomy, which helps him breathe. Maintaining it requires the constant purchase of tubes—sterile tubes used to clean the tracheostomy and airways. These consumables represent a significant expense for the family. Therefore, we are launching a fundraiser to help pay for tracheostomies and tubes for Misha and other seriously ill children.
