Muhammad has a congenital heart defect – Tetralogy of Fallot, double outlet right ventricle and pulmonary artery stenosis. As a result, his blood is not sufficiently oxygenated, and his body is suffering.
His parents were told of the diagnosis whilst his mother was still pregnant. The doctors warned them straight away that he would need an operation after birth. For the first few weeks, Muhammad was under medical supervision; he was then discharged home with the advice to see a cardiologist regularly.
At his last check-up, it became clear that there was no time to delay. The child had developed severe cyanosis. He gets so tired so quickly that he cannot even cry for long. And the medication is no longer helping.
Despite his illness, Muhammad is growing up cheerful and smiling. He loves it when people talk to him and tries to respond in his own way. Recently, he has started babbling, is learning to hold his toys, and is constantly reaching for his sister’s musical dog.
There are four children in Muhammad’s family. His father works, and they have enough to live on and for medication, but the family cannot afford the expensive operation.
Anyone who cares can help Muhammad. Please support him!
