Nelly was born prematurely with a severe heart defect. Her parents abandoned her, and after some time, she ended up in a boarding school in Syktyvkar. It was there that staff from the Road of Life Foundation met her and brought her to Moscow for an examination.
Nelly now lives at the Foundation's Social Center, where she is cared for by a nanny, who talks to her and cuddles her. The caregivers say, "She can read for hours, humming while drawing, and she also loves dogs."
There are many children like Nelly. They come for checkups, surgeries, or other medical procedures and live at our Social Center. They all need someone to ensure everything runs smoothly. At the Social Center, this person is called the senior nanny.
The senior nanny is a true one-man band. She knows everything about each child, helps with paperwork, organizes birthday parties, orders medications, and coaxes them to eat soup. And, of course, it helps other nannies.
