Ksenia is 10 years old. She was born a healthy girl and developed according to her age, but she started talking late, and her first words appeared only at the age of 3. Doctors diagnosed her with mental retardation.
Ksenia started attending kindergarten at the age of 4. Despite the efforts of her parents and specialists, the diagnosis did not change by the age of 7, and she started attending a special education school. She is currently in the second grade, but she finds it difficult to concentrate and stay focused. She also needs help from an adult in self-care and everyday life.
In January 2026, the family faced a new diagnosis of epilepsy: the girl had her first seizure. She was prescribed treatment, and the seizures subsided. However, in order to find the exact cause of the disease and properly adjust her therapy, Ksenia needs to undergo a genetic test called genome sequencing.
Despite this, Ksenia remains cheerful. She enjoys going for walks, sculpting, visiting museums and theaters, and spending time with her family. Help the girl get the right treatment and a stable future!
