Vika was born full-term, but just an hour after birth, her condition deteriorated. A ventilator, a major stroke, and a week in intensive care — the first year of her life became a struggle for the family to ensure their daughter's survival. At 7.5 months, a shunt was installed, which led to a total regression of all her skills back to "zero."
Through hard work and physical therapy, the girl took her first steps at the age of 2. However, at 2.5 years old, severe pneumonia and a new seizure once again wiped out many of her skills, and it took six months to restore them. Now Vika walks in orthoses, speaks, and attends school; she is a very kind and social girl.
Currently, all of our family's resources are being directed toward improving her speech quality, increasing her active vocabulary, and teaching her reading and basic mathematics so that she can fully keep up with the school curriculum. She also vitally needs physical therapy and massage courses to prevent scoliosis and maintain her physical condition. At school, Vika is currently assisted by an aide, but our family dreams of her achieving full independence.
Please help Vika complete her new rehabilitation course!
