Five-year-old Aliya from the large Kurievy family learned early what grief is: the girl has acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and the insidious disease does not respond to chemotherapy. In order for the little one to have a chance at life, a complex CAR-T therapy was necessary: it allows the patient's own T-lymphocytes to be 'taught' to recognize and destroy malignant cells.
This procedure is not covered by OMS, and its cost is enormous: 3,055,366 rubles!
Thanks to you, the money for treatment was raised! Aliya is preparing for a bone marrow transplant and subsequent CAR-T therapy. As her mother Lidiya says, her daughter remains cheerful and is already making plans for the future:
'Aliya is energetic, feels well, and dreams of going to kindergarten, even at the oncology center, but for now the doctors do not allow it, since we stayed in a separate sterile room and were not allowed to have contact with other children.
My daughter does not waste time; she is learning to draw. Recently, she even helped volunteers paint a wall in the room!
She video calls her brothers, sisters, and friends—everyone is supporting us so much!'
