Samira is a girl with complex diagnoses: cerebral palsy, delayed psychomotor development, and hydrocephalus. But despite all this, she has already proven that perseverance and love can work wonders.
She has undergone numerous rehabilitation programs. And the results are inspiring. Samira has learned to talk, sit, crawl, eat on her own, and even go to school. Behind each of these achievements lies hard work, tears, sleepless nights, and her parents' faith.
Today, the girl is ready for a new, very important step. To further progress and consolidate all her successes, she vitally needs surgery:
The Grice procedure (subtalar arthrodesis) is a tendon-muscle reconstruction of the lower extremities.
This procedure will realign her legs, improve her gait, relieve spasticity, and give Samira the opportunity to move more freely. This is a chance to consolidate everything she has already achieved and move forward.
But the family cannot afford the surgery themselves. All their resources are spent on ongoing rehabilitation, medications, activities, and living expenses. Therefore, they ask for help from caring people.
