Khalid will soon turn 4 years old. Until he was 18 months old, his development was normal, but at 1 year and 6 months, his parents began to notice a delay: all skills were emerging late. At 2 years old, he was diagnosed with delayed psychoverbal development. Treatment with a neurologist and the first rehabilitation program began. Khalid is now 3 years and 10 months old. He is already in the fourth stage of treatment, and results are showing: sounds have appeared, and his understanding of speech has improved (so far only at the everyday level). However, he has not yet started speaking. He still has behavioral and emotional issues (he may hit). His current skills include pointing, trying to vocalize animals, making sounds, making eye contact, and responding to his name. Khalid currently requires rehabilitation to consolidate his progress. The sessions, combined with medication, are showing results, and with further work, there is a chance he will return to normal. Unfortunately, the parents are unable to afford this course themselves.
