Thank you! The assistants continue to care for our furry friends

There’s a job in veterinary medicine that’s hardly visible to outsiders, but without which not a single critically ill animal could be saved. It’s the work of the veterinary assistant.

It is the assistant who is the first to receive a dog hit by a car on the highway or an exhausted stray cat: they position and secure the animal on the table, insert a catheter, prepare it for surgery, and monitor its breathing under anesthesia. In those first critical hours, when the patient’s survival hangs in the balance, everything depends on the assistant’s attentiveness and precision.

Then comes the inpatient care: IVs, dressings, injections strictly on schedule, temperature monitoring, and round-the-clock observation of those who have undergone surgery. If they miss the moment when an animal’s condition begins to deteriorate, it will be much harder to help it. Hundreds of dogs and cats pass through the center every month, and behind each one lies hours of this unseen labor.

Thanks to your donations, a month’s worth of work for two veterinary assistants is fully funded. All this time, there were hands by the patients’ sides — hands that set up IVs on time, noticed warning signs, and nursed the animals back to health after surgery. For dozens of furry friends, this is the very help without which treatment simply wouldn’t have been possible. Thank you for helping to save more than one life.
