Dusya is six years old and lives in a shelter. Dusya is seriously ill - she cannot pee on her own and is in daily pain.
Dusya has never had not only an owner, but also her own guardian, so the problem, and Dusya herself, was noticed late. Only when the dog's belly began to swell to an unnatural size did shelter workers sound the alarm.
Dusya was urgently moved from the cage to the veterinary unit.
It turned out that urine was accumulating in his bladder. The first few days they pumped 2 to 2.5 liters of urine from the dog!
Dusya was suspected of having severe, years-long neglected cystitis. For a long time it was aggravated by the cold and dampness of the aviary. Now Dusya can't stay there at all - she needs daily care.
The shelter has no highly specialized doctors. This fundraiser will help us raise money for Duša's care by a good nephrologist, for a quality and effective treatment and for a long-term medical care.
We hope that with the proper treatment this young dog's body will conquer the disease and begin to function on its own again. And maybe she will finally have a chance to not only leave the shelter, but to find a family of her own.
After all, she now has a guardian.
