Ole is 16 years old. She was a healthy girl, but at the age of 2, she started complaining about pain in her leg and arm. Her parents didn't understand what was causing the pain. Suddenly, she started having seizures with high fever. Doctors examined her and diagnosed her with Rasmussen's encephalitis, which led to epilepsy. They tried various medications, but the seizures persisted. At the age of 9, Ole underwent a brain surgery, which significantly improved her condition.
Olya's parents don't give up and are working on her rehabilitation. Olya's right arm and leg are almost paralyzed due to encephalitis. She uses a wheelchair and does everything with one hand.
Olya attends an adaptive school and works with a speech therapist and a defectologist. She also attends a music school, where she plays the piano and sings. She enjoys attending concerts and theater performances with her mother and sister. Additionally, she has a passion for drawing, and her artwork adorns the rooms in their home. Olya dreams of visiting the island of Sakhalin and Lake Baikal. She dreams of being healthy – running, playing, learning to cook and knit with both hands.
Now doctors recommend Olya to undergo an MRI of the brain and video-EEG monitoring, and by the results - a consultation with an epileptologist. These studies are expensive, and they will help Olya on the way to recovery.
