Together we helped Imona: the operation was successful!

Imona was born premature, the first of twins. She is 5 months old. She spent a long time at the Royal Hospital; her mother visited her only twice before abandoning the girls. On May 5th, Imona was transferred to a family center, where the director became her guardian.

Imona has hydrocephalus—excess fluid in the skull presses on the brain. Due to her prematurity and the lack of prenatal screening, the condition is advanced. The pressure is increasing daily, threatening irreversible loss of vision, hearing, and intelligence. The only hope is an urgent bypass operation to drain the cerebrospinal fluid and give her brain a chance to develop. The countdown is not months, but weeks: Imona could lose her sight and hearing. Imona and her sister do not have Russian citizenship, so the surgery is a paid one. The director of the center, as her guardian, cannot pay for the treatment from the state budget. We are starting a fundraiser for neurosurgery and the care of a nanny during her hospitalization. Only we can give her a future without disabilities. Let's help Imona survive and become healthy!
