Stas is an orphan with a rare genetic disorder. The foundation met him in 2018, when he was immobilized by an undiagnosed illness. We helped him come to Moscow so doctors could determine a definitive diagnosis. This was followed by lengthy treatment and rehabilitation.
Thanks to the doctors' work and his own willpower, Stas has regained many of his skills: he can hold a spoon again, operate a wheelchair, and draw.
Now he's 18 and lives at the Road of Life Foundation's Social Center, a temporary home for orphans who come to Moscow for treatment. There are more than a dozen such children at the center, all of whom undergo complex surgeries and hospital stays. We strive to provide them with the essentials, including constant medical monitoring.
The children's health at the Social Center is monitored by the foundation's medical specialist, Svetlana: she monitors compliance with doctors' orders, ensures the children take their medications on time, and notices the slightest changes in their well-being. For children undergoing complex treatment, Svetlana replaces their local pediatrician, and sometimes even the ambulance crew.
Help pay for Svetlana's work so that orphans undergoing treatment in Moscow always have someone nearby who understands their condition, notices problems early, and comes to their aid!
