Fatima is 4 years old. She has a psychoverbal developmental delay (PSD) with behavioral and emotional disturbances, as well as a level 1 general speech underdevelopment (GSU).
Until she was one year old, she developed according to her age and began to speak her first words. However, at 1 year and 3 months, after a severe purulent sore throat, she experienced a severe setback: she forgot everything she knew, stopped responding to her name, and stopped making eye contact. With age, the problems worsened: Fatima became unsociable with people, became picky about food, and was terrified of water and animals. Stereotypes (stimuli) and frequent tantrums developed. The family began intensive work: activities such as ABA therapy, neurodynamic gymnastics, and sensory integration require a significant financial investment.
Thanks to regular efforts, progress has already been made: the girl has learned to make eye contact, has developed a pointing gesture, says "mama" and "dada," and follows simple requests. Her tantrums have become less frequent. To further develop her communication and socialization skills, Fatima requires ongoing and continuous training with specialists.
