Artem has several diagnoses and needs swimming lessons

Tema is 12 years old. He has severe mental retardation, autistic spectrum disorder, sensorimotor alalia, curvature of the spine.

From the first year of life, Tema was tearful, had poor sleep, refused to eat, lagged behind in development. Speech never developed. At 3.5 years old, a disability was issued. Endless rehabilitation began: physical therapy, massages, classes with psychologists and defectologists. Until 9 years old, Tema did not control pelvic functions.

The turning point came at the age of 11, when he tried swimming lessons. The results were astonishing: his posture improved, he became calmer, his aggression subsided, and most importantly, he began to understand at least some of what was being said to him. Water stimulates the growth of neural connections and provides a boost to the development of the entire body.
