When Ilya was born, doctors saw a hernia on the baby's back. This is a severe congenital malformation of the spine - spina bifida. Some vertebrae do not close together and the spinal cord forms a hernia. If a baby is diagnosed with a spina bifida hernia, he or she is operated on the first day of life. Unfortunately, everything below the hernia is not felt by the baby. Most often the defect can be seen by ultrasound, but in Ilya's case, we learned about spina bifida in the delivery room. His mother was shocked, she cried: "No, this can't be, my child will get better and stand on his feet. Mom and Ilya have already gone through a lot: several surgeries, hospital beds, tears and sleepless nights. But it didn't break the family, on the contrary, everyone became stronger in spirit! Ilya has no feeling in his legs. The boy's means of transportation are his small but strong arms. In spite of the difficulties, Ilya is a cheerful smart and cheerful guy. And his favorite pastime is to sing and dance. Now Ilya is 4 years old, it's time for him to be vertical. The boy himself cannot stand on his feet - there is no support in them.
