Muhammad was born full-term and healthy. At four months, his parents began to notice developmental delays. He was sedentary and less active than his peers. He didn't respond to new toys or sounds, didn't respond to his name, and would stare blankly for long periods of time.
He was diagnosed with a delay in psychomotor development with autism spectrum disorder. A lengthy rehabilitation process began, which continues to this day, nine years later. During treatment, positive changes were observed in several areas: His knowledge about himself and the world has expanded. He knows his name and responds to it. He communicates with his parents using gestures.
Unfortunately, his self-care skills are not fully developed. He exhibits impaired motor coordination. His motor skills are poorly developed, and fine motor skills are underdeveloped. Expressive speech is absent. To develop all of these skills, Muhammad needs a comprehensive rehabilitation program.
