Alexandra, who has chromosome 13 syndrome and a speech disorder, needs help.

Alexandra was born prematurely, at 36 weeks, weighing 1,640 grams and measuring 45 cm. Immediately after birth, she was admitted to intensive care due to a ruptured lung (pneumothorax), and her family had a long struggle to keep her healthy. From the age of six months, Sasha underwent Vojta and Bobath therapy. At two years old, she was diagnosed with a chromosomal abnormality—a ringed chromosome 13—which caused a speech impediment. Since the age of two, Alexandra has been receiving ongoing treatment from specialists: a speech therapist, a special education teacher, a kinesiotherapist, an occupational therapist, and a neuropsychologist. Thanks to their work, Sasha has made significant progress: she has become more aware of her body, falls less frequently, and her legs have become more stable. Her understanding of spoken language and ability to follow instructions have significantly improved. She has begun to speak independently, but much work remains to be done. To consolidate these acquired skills and master new ones, she requires another rehabilitation course. Unfortunately, the cost of treatment is high for the family.
