Alice is a baby from the orphanage. She's in the hospital now, and neither Mom nor dad is around. At her age, a child needs the constant presence of an adult: warm hands, a calm voice, hugs.
Without a babysitter, Alice will be left alone in the ward. The nurses can't sit with her 24/7— they have other patients.
