Daniel lives in a neuropsychiatric boarding school. He's palliative: he doesn't walk, he doesn't talk, and he can't ask for help on his own. He is currently in intensive care with severe pneumonia and a high fever. Doctors are fighting for his life, but they can't be around around the clock. And Daniel needs care every minute: turning him over to avoid pressure sores, monitoring his breathing, moistening his lips, and just holding his hand when he's scared.
