Stas became a beneficiary of the fond 8 years ago. He has a rare genetic disease that could only be correctly diagnosed when the fond brought the boy to Moskva. Until the age of 10, he could not move his legs or arms and constantly suffered from pain.
After many years of treatment and rehabilitation, Stas gradually started to get better. He regained many skills—he can now eat by himself, draw, operate a modern electric wheelchair, and has started to speak much better.
Despite Stas’s efforts to be as independent as possible, he cannot manage daily life and constant care without help. That’s why his nanny, provided by the fond, is always by his side. She not only helps him with everyday tasks, hygiene, and mobility, but has also become a reliable adult for Stas, someone who was there as the boy grew up, studied, and developed, during all hospitalizations, rehabilitations, examinations, and at the Sotsialnyy tsentr of the fond. She encourages him in moments of fatigue and celebrates every victory.
