Every month, our foundation covers utility costs for several apartments located near a perinatal center in Moscow. These apartments house expectant mothers and mothers of newborns whom doctors have advised to stay close to the hospital—before delivery, to minimize risks and prepare for surgery, and afterwards, to visit their babies daily for feeding and care. Without our support, many families from other regions would simply have nowhere to stay during treatment, as housing in the capital is beyond their means; without accommodation, they would be unable to access the necessary care. Recently, a mother we support from Rostov-on-Don gave birth to a son with a left-sided diaphragmatic hernia. It was only the ability to stay in Moscow, near the perinatal center, that allowed her son to receive timely medical attention; he has since undergone surgery and remains under medical supervision. Meanwhile, his mother can visit him every day and recover from childbirth in comfortable surroundings. Other parents facing similar challenges also stay in these apartments each month.
