Magomed is 5 years old. His parents learned about his diagnosis—psychological and speech development disorder with elements of autism (ONR level 1)—when he was only 9 months old.
The boy did not respond to his name, avoided eye contact, and lined up his toys in neat rows. For a long time, he had no understanding of spoken language at all.
The family did not give up: they consulted many neurologists and psychiatrists and completed five or six rehabilitation courses at specialized centers. Over the past year, Magomed has been working continuously with specialists.
Their efforts are paying off: the boy has started to understand speech better and has begun to say his first words. For his development to continue, he needs another course of rehabilitation.
