A young father, Zulfat, from a small village in Tatarstan, needs a second bone marrow transplant. For several years, he has been fighting acute myeloid leukemia—a type of blood cancer. The first BMT from his sister brought remission, but due to a severe graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) reaction, his liver and skin were affected. He is currently in a clinic in Sankt-Peterburg. Doctors say that only a second transplant can stop the blood cancer.

Before his illness, Zulfat had opened a tire service in his home village, was raising his two-year-old daughter, and was expecting a second child with his wife. He was diagnosed with acute leukemia in 2024. The transplant from his sister was successful, but then he developed neuroleukemia and severe complications.

For the transplant to take place, Zulfat needs to pay for a set of reagents required for the procedure. This is not covered by OMS.

Let’s help Zulfat return home to his wife and little daughter, who is waiting for her dad.
