Yana has ichthyosis and needs skin care products

The girl was born with a severe form of ichthyosis, a rare genetic skin disorder.

The parents managed to have their child transferred from the region to a hospital in Irkutsk. Yana spent two months there. Doctors tried to find skin care products for the girl, but their efforts were unsuccessful – none of the creams or balms worked for her. The family purchased all the necessary emollients themselves. When the supplies ran out, the responsibility for Yana's daily care fell entirely on the parents.

Despite all the difficulties, the girl's condition was stabilized. Now 11 years old, Yana attends school, enjoys drawing, and does handicrafts like her peers. Yana has proven throughout her life that a serious diagnosis is not a death sentence, but the family could not have overcome these challenges alone.

Support for Yana is still important today. She requires specialized, expensive emollients because... Her skin can't retain moisture; it constantly peels, tightens, and develops painful cracks. Moisturizing her skin requires several times a day, which is a significant expense for the family.
