Said-Magomed is a boy with severe developmental challenges. He has been diagnosed with autism and profound intellectual disability. He does not speak, does not make eye contact, and his interaction with the world is limited to the most basic, everyday level of understanding. Because of his condition, the boy reacts acutely to any touch, sounds, or interventions—his defensive response often manifests as aggression.
This is why a regular visit to the dentist is impossible for Said-Magomed. Any attempt at examination or treatment causes him panic and rejection, making standard procedures dangerous both for him and for the doctors. The only solution is treatment under deep sedation (medicated sleep), which allows all necessary procedures to be carried out as safely and painlessly as possible for the child.
Unfortunately, the cost of such treatment under sedation is very high, and the family cannot afford it on their own. The parents are doing everything they can, but the financial burden has become overwhelming for them.
