In May 2025, Gelan was in a car accident and suffered a severe traumatic brain injury.
He suffered a brain contusion, intracranial hemorrhage, and several complex surgeries.
Doctors performed a craniotomy and hematoma removal. Due to the severity of his injuries, Gelan also lost his left eye.
Today, the consequences of the accident remain extremely severe. Gelan is speechless, has minimal movement in his arms and legs, has difficulty swallowing, and is fed through a feeding tube.
He is bedridden and completely dependent on the care of his family: he cannot eat, dress, or perform basic daily activities on his own.
Following treatment, Gelan has already completed a rehabilitation course.
Doctors now recommend continuing his recovery.
Rehabilitation is necessary to work on motor functions, swallowing, and speech, prevent the development of contractures, and gradually restore Gelan's basic self-care skills.
