And treatment has already yielded significant results: Islam has been removed from the nasogastric tube, tracheostomy, and urinary catheter, is attempting to speak, can sit in an adapted chair, and can stand for short periods with the help of a walker.

However, the effects of the hypoxia he suffered remain severe.

Islam is not yet able to sit, stand, or walk independently, speak fully, eat or drink, or care for himself.
