At the age of 3, Sumaya was admitted to the hospital with a diagnosis of botulism; doctors put her into an induced coma. After 21 days, the little girl was transported to Moscow, where specialists diagnosed her with autoimmune encephalitis. The girl underwent 2 courses of chemotherapy.

Now Sumaya is 10 years old, and she is gradually recovering the skills she lost. Thanks to regular sessions with a behavior analyst, the girl has started eating independently and has mastered toileting skills. Partial understanding of spoken language has emerged, and Sumaya is learning to communicate with those around her. However, the girl still has no speech and exhibits undesirable behavior.

Sumaya needs to continue her sessions with specialized professionals to acquire new skills.
