Vladik is seven years old; he ended up in an orphanage when his mother passed away. Because Vlad was born prematurely and had an intrauterine infection, he spent the first months of his life in the hospital, and until the age of five, he could neither speak nor move.

Last year, experts from the foundation noticed Vladik and brought him to Moskva. He underwent a course of botulinum therapy to relax his muscles, followed by surgery that 'taught' his nerve endings to work in a new way. Finally, after many months of rehabilitation, Vladik was able to let go of his support and take his first independent step!

Now Vlad lives in the Sotsialnyy tsentr of the foundation, which everyone here simply calls 'Domik.' It is not a hospital or a boarding school—it's a real apartment with a kitchen, living room, and cozy bedrooms. Here, Vlad and other orphaned children who come for treatment from different regions stay between hospitalizations and rehabilitation courses. With them around the clock are patronage nannies who help them get dressed, feed them, and, of course, keep their spirits up. Every week, a speech therapist, a special education teacher, and a physical therapy specialist work with the children so that their progress never stops, not even for a day.
