Nadya is thirteen, her mother died four years ago, and the girl ended up in an orphanage. She was immediately loved there—she is remarkably bright, energizes everyone around her, and despite her developmental differences, she finds common ground with everyone.
But the girl's health requires serious intervention. On the advice of the foundation's doctors, Nadya was brought to Moskva and underwent surgery. Now both of Nadya's legs are in casts, and such limited mobility is very difficult for an active girl.
"As soon as they take off the cast, I'll run!" Nadya smiles. But in reality, she faces many months of rehabilitation, consultations with orthopedists, and possibly more surgeries. All this time, Nadya will be accompanied by her nanny, provided by the foundation. The nanny stayed with the girl in the hospital and now lives with her in the foundation's Sotsialnyy Center, where Nadya will spend the coming months.
The nanny not only cares for her and helps with daily life, but also becomes that close adult who won't let her feel alone.
Such nannies are needed not only by Nadya—children come to Moskva for treatment from all over the country. And every such child should have the opportunity not to be left alone in a hospital ward or in the Sotsialnyy Center.
Help us pay for the work of the nannies! Let Nadya and other orphaned children have a reliable adult by their side.
