Since birth, Veronika was very restless. When she started walking, she began rocking her body and intentionally banging her head against doors. She did not play with other children, did not understand spoken language, did not speak, and did not respond to her own name. For a long time, doctors could not determine the cause. At 2.5 years old, Veronika was diagnosed with a hemangioma in the left parotid area, a delay in psycho-speech development, and unconfirmed autism.
From that moment, her parents focused on treating the hemangioma, which turned out to be inoperable, and at the same time took Veronika to a speech therapist. As a result, by the age of 3.5, the child began to produce syllables and use a pointing gesture.
Thanks to regular intensive courses, the girl's understanding of spoken language improved, and she began to use simple phrases in everyday situations.
Veronika needs to continue working with specialized professionals in order to retain the skills she has acquired and learn new ones.
