When babies from orphanages end up in the hospital, they are left completely alone in their wards. Legally, many of them are not orphans—they have biological parents—but these people cannot be found and do not participate in the lives of the abandoned children. In their most difficult moments, there is no mother nearby to hug and comfort them.
The professional nannies from our foundation become a whole world for these babies: a mother, a caregiver, and a loyal friend. They do more than just provide hygiene care, feed the children, and follow doctors’ orders—they give the children a chance for full development within the hospital walls, teaching them to take their first steps and say their first words. To surround these lonely babies with care and warmth, we need to pay for the daily, round-the-clock work of our nannies.
