Lilya is one of the twins. She was born full-term, but very tiny, weighing less than 2 kg. She grew and developed with a slight delay, and at six months old, she had her first epileptic seizure.
Since then, the little girl has been taking anticonvulsant medication, and her development has slowed down significantly. She acquires new skills with difficulty. She started sitting up and getting on all fours after her first birthday. Her parents are trying to help their daughter: they take her to massage therapy and therapeutic physical exercises.
Lilya is now 1 year and 4 months old. She still does not stand on her feet, but she can kneel while holding onto support. She is also trying to say her first words, and she can already say 'mama.' She likes animals, but most of all she loves playing with her dog named Spaysi: Lilya throws the ball and waits for her to bring it back.
Despite all the difficulties, Lilya is a very lively and curious girl. She loves looking at books and toys, and she reaches for everything new. She is also inseparable from her twin sister: they are always together.
Now doctors recommend that Lilya undergo genetic testing: chromosomal microarray analysis and genome sequencing, to accurately determine the cause of her illness and to properly plan her treatment and rehabilitation.
This analysis is expensive, so the family is asking for help to pay for it.
