Artem loves crafting. After being admitted to the Perm oncology center, he struggled with the unfamiliar silence and longed for his usual life. The Znaybus program came to the rescue—a leisure project for children with cancer. Volunteers turn hospital days into a space for creativity, bringing not just materials to the wards, but also the opportunity to forget about illness and feel like a child again.

Artem became passionate about the activities: he sculpted a katana in the pottery workshop, programmed robots, but most of all, he fell in love with photography. Even in intensive care, he practiced portrait photography, came up with new angles, and inspired those around him with his enthusiasm.

This is more than just entertainment. Creativity shifts the mind from pain to creation. Stress hormones give way to dopamine, and positive emotions support the immune system weakened by chemotherapy. Medicine heals the body, while Znaybus heals the soul, restoring self-belief. Program participants cope with treatment more easily, recover faster, and remain the heroes of their own stories, not just patients.
