Doctors confirmed that the fontanelle had closed too early, which caused the brain to be trapped in a narrow cranial cavity. This condition poses a risk of losing vision, hearing, and memory.
Amir underwent urgent surgery to correct the skull, but this is only the beginning of his recovery. Now you need to wear an orthopedic helmet, which will help shape the correct anatomy of the skull and create space for brain growth. After a few months, the orthosis will need to be adjusted again to fit the size of the head.
It is important to start the correction as soon as possible, while the skull bones are still pliable after the surgery and have not yet become fixed in an incorrect position. However, Amir’s parents don’t have the means to purchase an orthopedic device. They won’t be able to cope without us. Let’s help Amir grow up healthy!
