Alina is 1.5 years old. The girl was born with severe hypoxia, suffered 80% brain damage, and spent three weeks on IVL. Despite her critical condition, after just 3–4 days she was able to switch to independent breathing.
Alina has DTsP, hydrocephalus — a shunt has been installed, grade 4 deafness, and pseudobulbar syndrome. The girl does not yet sit, crawl, or hold her head up. She is fed through a gastrostomy.
But Alinka is a real little smiler: she is always smiling, showing her five little teeth. She is very tactile and loves when specialists work with her joints. In these moments, she feels her body better and is happy.
Despite her severe diagnoses, specialists note that Alina has high rehabilitation potential. To develop her existing skills and acquire new ones, she needs regular rehabilitation courses: sessions with a speech therapist to learn swallowing, osteopathy, Voyta and Bobat-terapiya, consultations with a neurologist and epileptologist.
Rehabilitation needs to be done every three months, but for Alina's family, this is very expensive. Currently, only her father is working, while her mother is on maternity leave. Childcare payments have already stopped. All the family's income goes to the mortgage, loans, and necessary daily expenses. There is no opportunity to save money for treatment and rehabilitation.
