September 1st is a day everyone looks forward to. Children hug their classmates, meet their teachers, and make wishes for the new school year. For most, getting ready for school is a pleasant bustle: choosing the prettiest diary and backpack.
But there are families for whom even a modest set of school supplies is a challenge. While parents struggle with money and health issues, their children especially need to feel that the holiday hasn't passed them by.
These are the families we help. Oksana is raising three children on her own, all of them school-aged. Right now, the family is facing financial difficulties, and her children aren't choosing 'the prettiest' things for school—they'll be happy just to receive something.
Every child deserves a celebration. We are raising funds for school kits: backpacks, notebooks, pens, and pencils. So that every child feels that September 1st is their holiday too.
With your help, five families with fifteen children will receive more than just school supplies. They will gain the confidence that they are not alone. On the first day of school, they will go with a smile.
