Sumayya is six years old. She has been diagnosed with delayed psychoverbal development (DPVD). She was born at 38 weeks of pregnancy as a result of hypoxia. When the girl turned three, her parents noticed that she had difficulty understanding spoken language and did not speak at all. The family began taking her to a speech therapist and neuropsychologist in their area. By the age of four, Sumayya spoke her first words. They underwent rehabilitation in state institutions, but unfortunately, the time allocated there was too limited to achieve good results.
Now, at six years old, the girl can only say individual words and is not yet forming sentences. In a year, she will need to start school. During this time, she needs to learn to understand speech and to speak in phrases.
However, due to difficult financial circumstances, the family cannot afford a full rehabilitation course for Sumayya.
Let’s help this wonderful girl get the necessary treatment and take an important step towards her development together!
