Timofey is a child from a set of twins. Together with his brother Vasya, they were born prematurely, but Timofey turned out to be a whole kilogram lighter, which is why he was immediately admitted to intensive care. At first, all efforts were focused on getting him to breathe and eat on his own. No one noticed that in the incubator, the baby spent long periods in the same position, lying on his left side. At home, his mother started turning Timofey onto his other side, but he persistently returned to his usual position.
By the time he was about a year old, the asymmetry of his skull became obvious—his forehead on one side protruded forward, the back of his head took on a triangular shape, and his ears were at different levels. This greatly worries his parents, as such an appearance could hinder the child's ability to socialize normally.
For now, the defect can still be corrected without surgery, if an orthopedic helmet is fitted as soon as possible. It will guide the proper growth of the skull bones.
