At just six years old, Khalid is battling a severe diagnosis — developmental delay, ADHD, and ASD. He does not speak yet and lacks self-care skills, including the ability to use the toilet. What worries his parents most is that the little boy cannot distinguish between good and bad, danger and safety.

Until the age of one and a half, Khalid developed absolutely normally, both physically and mentally. Everything changed after his small body was hit with a double blow: coronavirus and a rotavirus infection at the same time. The severe intoxication caused irreparable damage to his nervous system.

Now, thanks to therapy, the first steps have already been taken. Khalid responds to his name, tries to eat by himself, and can hold a cup. But all these skills are at the most basic level and require constant reinforcement.
