Six-year-old Umar—the youngest and fourth child in the large Dzhamulaevy family—was born healthy, but at the age of three he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Nine months of chemotherapy produced results: the boy went into remission. But three years later, the disease returned.
"In July, Umar started complaining of back pain. Tests showed nothing, but a puncture revealed that Umar was sick again," says his mother, Seda.
Umar is currently being treated at the NII detskoy onkologii i gematologii im. L.A. Durnova of the NMITs onkologii im. N.N. Blokhina. Due to the complicated course of the relapse, last-chance therapy is needed—CAR-T (cellular therapy). This is a new method: the patient's own cells specifically target cancer cells. The technology involves collecting the patient's cells and programming them by creating special receptors, which allows T-lymphocytes to be "taught" to recognize and destroy malignant cells.
Specialists are ready to help, but the technology has only recently begun to be used in the country and is not yet covered by OMS funds.
Without your help, treatment for the large Dzhamulaevy family is impossible. Let’s give Umar a chance at life together.
Пусть Аллах поможет Умару в выздоровлении 🤲 🙏
