To stop the constant pain, Lera needs a neurostimulator

16‑year‑old Lera is in pain all the time. Her jaw, cheek, eye, and ear hurt. It’s been going on for many months. The doctors know what might help — she needs a neurostimulator. Scar tissue in the trigeminal nerve after removing a stone from the salivary gland — that’s the diagnosis that all the doctors are leaning towards. It is precisely these that cause pain severe enough to cause fainting (at school, Lera simply falls face‑first onto her desk), to make it impossible to sleep, and to make Lera’s head jerk from shooting pains. It just hurts all the time, and there’s no way to relieve this pain.

So far, no treatment has helped. Except for one. When a temporary neurostimulator was implanted in Lera, the pain “went away” in that very second. A month later, it was removed (and Lera asked the doctors to wait just one more day), and everything returned. Now the girl dreams of having a permanent neurostimulator implanted.

And it’s possible. If only the family can buy it themselves — the device that Lera specifically needs isn’t provided by the state for free.

Lera dreams of becoming a doctor and helping people. Despite everything, she enrolled in the first year of medical college and is studying. Let’s stop Lena’s pain together!
