Polina is 11 years old. She lives in a foster family with two older sisters and studies in the 4th grade under an adapted educational program.
The first years of Polina's life were very difficult. Due to challenging circumstances in her biological family, she ended up in an orphanage several times, and for a long time she lacked the care and stability that a child needs so much. Her mother's complicated pregnancy and childbirth, the experiences she went through in early childhood, and a traumatic brain injury seriously affected Polina's development.
When Polina joined her foster family at the age of six, she had significant developmental delays and systemic speech underdevelopment. Now, the girl does sports, dances, music, attends creative studios, and tries to learn new things. However, speech still remains one of the most difficult challenges for her.
To help Polina communicate, study, and gradually become more independent, she needs regular sessions with a speech therapist. A specialist will conduct an assessment and develop a program of sessions aimed at developing her speech and communication skills.
We would now like to pay for a speech therapist consultation and 16 sessions for Polina.
You can help Polina. For her, every new word and every step in her development is an opportunity to communicate more confidently with others and become more independent.
