About the campaign

We are launching this fundraiser to help the wards of the Bumazhnaya ptitsa fond: Timur and Aleksey. Due to their diagnoses, the boys need to regularly measure their blood oxygen saturation and pulse rate. For this, they need a small device that fits on the finger—a pulse oximeter.

Timur lives in Sankt-Peterburg and is 4 years old. He is very curious—he loves excavators and bulldozers, knows all the parts of construction machinery, and adores puzzles and cartoons. Despite his very young age, he has already been through a lot. Until he was one year old, he developed as usual, but in 2023 god, Timur suddenly became very ill. After extensive examinations, doctors discovered a brain tumor, followed by surgery and treatment in Sankt-Peterburg. A year later, Timur suffered severe complications and was admitted to intensive care several times, but he kept fighting and managed to pull through.

Now Timur is at home with his family. During the day, he can manage without oxygen, but at night he is connected to a ventilator and uses an oxygen concentrator if his saturation drops. It is also vital for him to have his blood oxygen level monitored around the clock—for this, last summer the family was helped to acquire a Masimo Rad5 pulse oximeter, but its cable broke, and without it, the device does not work. Timur needs a new cable set—Masimo RED LNCS SpO2, 20-pin, 304.8 cm (10 ft).

"Our family faces serious monthly expenses: child care, consumables, mortgage. That is why we are forced to turn to your fond for help in purchasing a sensor set for the pulse oximeter. We especially want to thank the fond staff and all the kind people who support sick children. Your help is priceless for parents who find themselves in such a situation," say Rustam and Ekaterina Bagautdinova, Timur's parents.

If in the first case only one part is needed for everything to work, in the second case—a whole pulse oximeter is required. Our second ward is Aleksey. Like Timur, it is important for him to constantly monitor his blood oxygen level. Currently, Aleksey does not have such a device, and we very much want to help his family acquire one so they can have peace of mind, notice changes in time, and act without delay.

Friends, let us support Timur and Aleksey together. Every contribution is a step towards them being able to breathe easily, and their parents feeling confident.

Thank you for your kind heart and responsiveness.
