Dzhamila is 6 years old. The girl has an autism spectrum disorder.
When Dzhamila was two, her parents noticed that she was developing differently from her peers and sought help from specialists. Since then, the girl has been receiving support, and these efforts are already yielding important results: Dzhamila has begun to understand simple everyday requests and is saying her first words. These are small but very significant steps forward.
Dzhamila still needs support. She sometimes finds it difficult to express her wishes and cope with strong emotions—sometimes a refusal can lead to crying and screaming. Regular sessions help her acquire new skills, communicate, and better understand the world around her.
Dzhamila needs to attend sessions with a behavioral analyst, a speech and language therapist, and specialists in adaptive physical education and sensory integration.
