Alisa is 15 years old and has cerebral palsy. She was born prematurely, at six months, and this early arrival led to serious, lasting consequences. Alisa cannot walk, sit up, or hold her head steady; the only part of her body she can control is her left arm.
Despite these challenges, Alisa remains deeply engaged with the world around her and has a great love for creative activities. She finds joy in drawing and sculpting, and she adores music. Sessions with a play therapist play a particularly important role in her life. Together, they work using a tablet—but for Alisa, this is far more than just a game. It serves as a way to exercise her brain, learn how to communicate, and discover new things.
Unfortunately, Alisa does not have a tablet of her own, so she can only engage in these activities during the specialist’s infrequent visits. For Alisa, a tablet is not merely a source of entertainment; it is a vital tool for exploring the world, a space for creativity, and a means of communication. However, her family cannot afford to purchase one.
Alisa is cared for by her older sister, Angelina, who serves as her legal guardian. Times are especially difficult for Angelina right now: she is raising two young children, and her husband is the only one in the family with an income. Buying a tablet would place a significant financial burden on them.
