Maksim is 3 years old. He was born healthy and strong, but at the age of one month, after a routine check-up at the clinic, he contracted an infection. Just two days later, he ended up in intensive care—the doctors discovered severe brain inflammation.
For months, Maksim was on the brink of life and death: severe inflammation and bleeding in the brain, sepsis, and being connected to a ventilator. At 7 months old, he had a special tube inserted to drain excess fluid from his head and stop it from accumulating.
But despite all this, he is a true hero. The little boy has learned to hold his head up, sit, and crawl on his belly. His parents and therapists see enormous rehabilitation potential and tremendous progress in their son.
For Maksim's muscles to grow stronger, for him to take his first independent steps, and to actively develop and catch up with his peers, daily therapy is needed. Financially, this is difficult, and the family cannot manage alone.
