Dear friends!
Last week we were able to help Alima Zakirova from Kyrgyzstan. The baby was born prematurely, which threatened her eyesight - retinopathy of prematurity, a very dangerous disease because of its rapidity. Alima was operated on at the Voyno-Yasenetsky Scientific Practical Centre in Moscow with the help of funds raised by you.
Doctors in Moscow did everything possible to prevent a total detachment of the retina.
Unfortunately, this disease is very insidious. A shot of an SSRI inhibitor stopped the pathological growth of the eye vessels, which gives a very high chance of restoring her vision. But for this to happen, Alima will need additional surgery.
Pediatric ophthalmic surgeons in St. Petersburg have more than once saved our charges in the most difficult cases, recreating their sight literally bit by bit. Now Alima really needs their help. It is impossible to save her sight without surgery. The girl needs the operation as soon as possible, and by doing so we will help her to see!
May the miracle of Christmas come true, when Alima will see the world and her beloved mother with her own eyes!
