Grisha was diagnosed with grade 4 sensorineural bilateral hearing loss too late, at age 3. Grisha had his first implantation seven months after the diagnosis. Unfortunately, it did not bring any results, Grisha still could not hear. There was only hope for cochlear implantation. The surgery was already done in Moscow. But his brain, not having learned to hear for more than 3.5 years, did not recognize the sounds. He only had to be taught that. Grisha did a lot of work with speech pathologists, speech therapists, surdologists, and in his town of Balakovo, Saratov region, and in Engels in a boarding school for the hearing impaired. Three years later his family received a quota for second ear implantation and after the surgery Grisha went to the first grade of a regular school at the age of 8. He likes studying - Grisha is trying hard, he loves drawing and physical education. But the speech processors which Grisha uses to hear have to be constantly maintained: their wires break, and they need a special cover for bathing in the bathtub or swimming in the pool. The family does not have money for that at the moment. Grisha has a family with many children, in addition his father was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer of the 4th degree. All family money was spent on support of the head of the family - surgery, rehabilitation and chemotherapy. That is why Grisha needs your help to buy the hearing aids.
